As the Senior Production Planner, you will develop the supply plan based on affiliate and statistical forecasts and ensure plan's accuracy. You will drive the escalation process for supply and demand planning issues. You will own accuracy and continuous optimization of key parameters (MRP master data) and lead bottleneck management, allocation, and reserve & scrap mitigation across the network. The Opportunity * Total inventory, purchasing and obsolescence management for the owned portfolio to ensure uninterrupted production and achieve targeted inventory service levels with lowest possible total costs. * Capacity (Short, mid and long term) Planning of production and third party vendors to optimize Capex investments and ensure uninterrupted supply at the least possible costs. * Ensure SKU Governance and support/control creation of new SKUs related to own portfolio scope. * Support launch co-ordination to continuously improve speed to market at economic costs. Production & Capacity Planning plus Inventory & Obsolescence Mgmt. * Provides production and purchasing plans for NFG, SFG and FG based on demands handed over from Global Supply Chain (GSC) product supply planning. Delivers and aligns production and purchasing plans to Manufacturing or suppliers including internal stakeholders on a reliable, timely needed basis. * Ensures that the total owned NFG and SFG inventory is supporting overall internal requirements to ensure uninterrupted production whilst monitoring, controlling and reporting inventory levels and obsolescence risks considering financial targets reliable on a monthly basis. * Initiates proactively countermeasures to reduce or avoid write-off costs * Initiates scrap process where unavoidable, respecting the given approval levels. * Reviews periodically all key parameters to be accurate or proposes optimization of settings. * Participates and contributes actively to the monthly Supply Review meetings. * Submits all the necessary data for annual budget planning in time and supports with gap analysis and follow-up actions. * Monitors and informs reliable on a regular basis about upcoming material availability risks and initiates actively countermeasures within the organization and with the vendor or production to resolve upcoming backorders or bottlenecks. Production orders and production planning * Aligns on a rolling basis the weekly production plans for finished goods and intermediate goods in the aligned frozen period. Smoothens weekly production load as much as possible in cooperation with production, other Production Planners and if needed with downstream planner(s) to achieve a high, but manageable production utilization. * Validates, creates and submits production orders and hands them over in time to operations. Ensures at this stage the full availability of needed components in terms of having them at the right production locations, the needed quantities with the acceptable shelf life. Initiates stock transfer if needed. * Communicates closely with downstream planner(s) and Production in case of upcoming bottlenecks or orders behind schedule and supports all measures for resolution. * Blocks, returns or initiates any other measure to avoid production using non-intended materials, e.g. in terms of revisions, shelf life, etc. * Monitors necessary internal transportation processes with storage locations or to the hub and initiates them if needed manually. * Prioritizes and tracks goods receipts, Quality releases and open plus overdue production orders. * Initiates and supports all necessary steps regards rework activities and ensures timely fulfillment. * Plans according to reality and feasibility without past due dates in PDC as well downwards to Finished Goods levels as well as upwards towards components and vendors signals and ensures timely and quantitative executable signals. * Ensures together with downstream planner(s) that the right demand signals are reflected in PDC and supports to achieve this if needed. SKU Governance and Overall Portfolio and Cost Optimization * Builds knowledge of all logistical content of existing contract and amendments, capacities and total lead times per owned supplier. Profound knowledge of capabilities, capacities and total lead time for internal manufacturing. * Ensures GSC fulfillment due to contractual obligations towards external suppliers. * Close collaboration with all relevant functions to speed up new SKU creation. * Periodical review of market demand or regulatory requirements like MDR/IVDR (or similar) with regular recommendation towards IPM and team leads to discontinue or substitute uneconomic SKU' from GSC perspective. * Collecting and reporting financial impact of new SKU's. * Supports Global Procurement with new contracts and amendments, by providing input on expected annual volumes and reviews all statements regarding logistical impacts. * Manage phase-in/phase-out of products with the objective to have minimum or no scrap. * Align EOL (End of Life) commitments with downstream planner(s) and the vendor minimum 12-24 months in advance and traces fulfillment over time. Monthly performance review including highlighting risks and deviations. E2E launch co-ordination * Close collaboration with all relevant functions regarding all relevant aspects of a launch. * Monitor, highlight and escalate proactively potential risks either due to missing or unrealistic launch dates, launch volumes, etc. or in case of discontinuation or product substitution on the markets. * Maintenance of workflows. Ensuring and tracking complete and correct master data maintenance in time of all relevant functions related to Production planning like Procurement, Content Management, etc. Who You Are * Bachelor's degree in business or related field; or 4 years' experience in a related field * 5 years of experience in logistics, marketing, production, inventory control or purchasing functions * Foundational --Teamwork, Problem solving and Decision Making, Reliability, Achieving results, Communication, Planning and Organizing. * Academic -- Math, Analytical Thinking, Operations Economics. * Technical -- Performance trade-offs, Supply Planning and Scheduling * Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Applying lean tools. Experienced user of Excel and Google Sheets. * English - Fluently in business conversation and writing Relocation benefits are not available for this posting The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis, IN is $75,700 - $140,700. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
