Job Summary The Dionysus Promoter will serve the campus community as part of the team that helps secure live performers and events in the Dionysus Disco ('Sco) through funds allocated by SFC to the Student Union Programming Committee. Responsibilities * Programming and Scheduling: Program the Dionysus Club using funds allocated through the SFC budget. Solicit artists which will serve a varying array of our student population and provide diverse programming for the wider campus community. Attend weekly programming meetings. * Contracting: Negotiate and review contracts under the supervision of the Assistant Director. * Show Promotion: Promote and advertise contracted shows in a variety of locations and media, with additional opportunity to promote & advertise other shows & events in the 'Sco. * Hosting: Serve as the on-campus host and as College representative for all contracted shows in the Dionysus Club. Additionally, become TIPS trained with the potential to pick up 'Sco Attendant shifts. * Event Support: Assist with supervision of 'Sco programs and activities through preparedness, professionalism, collaboration and awareness of the space/event to create a safe and welcoming environment. * Budgeting: Write and maintain the Student Union Program Committee budget. * Misc: Assist with supervision of 'Sco & Student Union programs & activities with potential to create some in-house programs outside of SUPC funding. Qualifications Please possess the ability to explain and enforce building and college policies, plus city and state regulations (e.g. fire code capacity, legal drinking age). Additionally, applicants must be willing to work late nights and be able to tolerate extended exposure to loud music. The applicant must possess good problem solving abilities. Additionally, the applicant must be able to attend a weekly programming meeting for approximately one hour. Experience as a concert promoter or activity planner is highly desired. A genuine interest in learning the concert business from the ground up is appreciated. Applicants must be available for TIPS training later in the Fall semester, date TBD. The preferred application deadline is January 26, 2025 but we will accept applications until positions are filled. The start date is April 17, 2025 for some initial training and shadowing. Return to campus for full training is slated for Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
