*MCVP - LifeGuard Group LifeLine Project VISTA The overall goal of this project is to increase the capacity of the LifeLine Project and develop a local volunteer base to sustain it. There are some significant gaps in the prevention of human trafficking and services provided to victims and survivors. There is a lack of resources and direct services for human trafficking victims and those at risk of being trafficked, a lack of knowledge attached to human trafficking by the public, a lack of stakeholder collaboration in Montana, and finally difficulty in being able to find adequate resources for the recovery of victims and survivors of human trafficking. Our 2022 survey revealed that approximately less than 50% of the Montana public are aware that human trafficking is occurring in their community. Additionally, just 1 in 10 people have been formally educated on the topic. This VISTA project will move at-risk, low-income youth out of poverty by raising awareness of human trafficking and creating a stronger public safety net and awareness of resources that can help victims of human trafficking to access help. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here. Member Duties : The VISTA will expand the scale and reach of the LifeLine Project into more local schools in the Missoula and Bitterroot area.
