A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Advisor/Patent Agent to join their team in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, with additional experience in litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark matters. The candidate must possess excellent communication and research skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Draft patent applications. Draft responses to USPTO office actions. Work closely with attorneys for patent preparation and prosecution. Draft instructions to foreign patent agents in response to office actions. Maintain a detailed understanding of products and technical developments. Conduct patentability studies and draft related assessments. Provide technical support for opinions, diligence projects, and litigation. Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties. Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively. Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products. Meet deadlines and perform work duties as required. Foster positive work relationships. Comply with all firm policies and practices. Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed. Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned. Requirements: 2-5 years of engineering and/or research experience. Excellent communication and research skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or a related field. Master’s Degree or similar advanced degree desired. Registration with the USPTO. Skills and Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to produce high-quality deliverables and respond to correspondence efficiently. Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and expectations. Ability to foster positive work relationships and comply with firm policies and practices. Capability to engage in both physical and sedentary activities required for the job.
