Under general supervision  of the Parks Administrator, this position is responsible for patrolling parks, enforcing rules, and City ordinances while maintaining safety and order. Performance is reviewed by conferences, reports, observation of results attained and direct feedback from customer interactions. Days/Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 3 PM - 11 PM, shift may include weekends, holidays, evenings, rotating shifts  Quarterly Night Differential Bonus of $750.00 available - Pro-rated by month for first quarter of employment; must work at least half of the month for that month to be counted toward the bonus.  * Enforces applicable Parks and Recreation rules and City ordinances by patrolling assigned areas for purposes of safety and order. Reports disorderly individuals and assists police when necessary. * Responds efficiently and effectively to eliminate and reduce dangers which present emergencies. Renders first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or arranges necessary help in emergencies. Ranger I will assist emergency personnel with injured patrons and other emergencies when needed. * Disseminates information to the general public for programs, specials events, or schedules as appropriate. * Ranger will meet regularly with Coral Springs Police Department for debriefings and relay updates regarding the Parks Department. * Write citations for public violations (i.e. parking, Code, Civil). * Writes clear and concise incident reports and submits them in a timely manner * Assist with removing patrons from park areas when Lightning alarm sounds. * Interacts with patrons to verify appropriate use of sports fields and proper facility rental permits. * Maintains current knowledge of Parks and Recreations rules and City Ordinances for application to functional areas under charge. * City Manager will designate enforcement powers to enforce park policies and City ordinances. * High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree preferred. * Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Parks and Recreation. * Prior Customer contact experience preferred. * Experience in communicating and dealing with the public. * Be able to approach residents and address situations professionally and appropriately. * Experience in and/or knowledge of Community Compliance is ideal * Possess CPR/First Aid and STOP THE BLEED training or obtain certification within six months of hire. * Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and acceptable driving record. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g. use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.
