Position Overview: The Director position is within the Investment and Capital Markets division's Business Technology Office (I&CM BTO) organization in the Strategic Transformations, Initiatives and Program Management Office. The team has the broad mandate of coordinating delivery of I&CM business and cross divisional solutions through the BTO portfolio of applications and platforms. The Director is to play a pivotal role and be a key culture carrier in the evolution program management, especially the engagement model with business stakeholders, senior management, and technology teams. Our Community Mission extends to helping Lenders, Communities and Families understand the process, challenges, and benefits of Sustainable Homeownership. * The I&CM division is responsible for executing liquidity, financing, credit risk transfer, and derivative transactions as well as managing Freddie Mac's portfolio of single-family securities and loan investments in the retained portfolio. The division also leads certain enterprise-level functions related to financial / capital /risk forecasting, model governance, payments, counterparty risk and third-party risk. * I&CM's Business Engineering Team is responsible for development and support of applications covering pre/post-trade data, pre/post-trade analytics, and what-if scenario-analysis for Asset Liability Management, Counterparty Credit Risk Management (CCRM), Cash Window, Retained Portfolio desks, and Middle Office Operations. * I&CM Risk & P&L Engineering Team is responsible for the development of the platform responsible for daily and intra-day risk analytics and daily P&L generation and reporting. The platform's results support trading decisions, management decisions, capital and risk appetite, and support Trading, Risk Management, Finance & Accounting, and Senior Management. Your Impact: * Build and maintain positive relationships with key Treasury & Asset Liability Management stakeholders, Finance, Risk Management and Governances teams. Promote consensus and aligning conflicting priorities and resolving issues to achieve progress, managing resource competition through transparency to all affected parties. * Manage a team of program managers in the consolidated coverage of end-of-day, intra-day and some pre-trade analytics applications and platforms. * Collaborate with Trade Capture, Data Services, and Pricing and Analytics developers and providers, in addition to Business Engineering, Risk and P&L Platform developers, as part of specifying integrated solutions in support of end-of-day and intra-day analytics supporting the I&CM desks. * Collaborate across I&CM teams, such as Operations, Finance, Risk Management, and Trading on new business activity and emerging initiatives, and special purpose projects to coordinate across I&CM BTO applications on end-to-end integration of supporting solutions. * Interact with specialized traders, quantitative analysts, finance, operations, and accounting staff through the software development lifecycle for data, end-of-day or intra-day analytics reporting, and downstream systems integrations. * Interact with BTO leadership, Trading leadership, and Finance leadership on the management of the consolidated book-of-work for end-of-day and intra-day Risk and P&L reporting system(s), applications, and services; includes management of the associated budgets and planning. * Provide concise, grounded, and audience-appropriate status reporting to I&CM Senior Management and Freddie Mac Executive management for the consolidated book-of-work for the applications/platforms and services covered by the Director. * Participates and provides support in audit and regulatory engagements, including issue remediation activities for ICM business functions, processes, applications, and platforms. * Technology risk and controls, control owner and/or control delegate, moving agility while advocating for and implementation of the evolution of controls, soundness, and sustainability of application(s). Qualifications: * 12+ years of experience in related field and 4+ years of management experience * Proven success leading and implementing a broad range of strategic and tactical initiatives * Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills * Ability and willingness to travel * College degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree in related field preferred * Strong quantitative, analytic and project management skills Keys to Success in this Role: * Empathetic to business users, quantity impact of end user requirements both in business terms (P&L, exposure) and in technology terms (level-of-effort, fit-for-purpose to applications). * History of innovation both in organizational change and in process/workflow re-engineering, re-platforming. * Must be able to plan, coordinate and supervise work of staff and produce timely results. * In depth knowledge of fixed income products (esp. mortgage loans, mortgage securities, rate derivatives, US treasuries, and debt issuance securities). * Know the business - anticipate and ensure business service-oriented engagement and experience-driven operating models; not necessarily taking implementation direction from the business but collaborate with development teams to deliver the destination experience while supporting good design. * Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable living in ambiguity with the ability to provide strong leadership during times of change; possesses the vision and the sensitivity to enable and sustain cultural transformation. * Drive to understand how technology contributes to Investment and Capital Markets, including Trading, Portfolio Management, Finance, Accounting, and Risk Management. * Understand end-to-end content creation, model analytics, financial reporting (e.g. Profit and Loss (P&L)), risk management analytics, how any given application contributes to the end-to-end. * Experience with the quantitative and reporting needs of Asset Liability Management, Interest Rate Risk Management, or Market Risk Management is required, experience covering those disciplines in Mortgage Markets is preferred. * Experience in Trade Settlements, Operations facing Exchanges and Counterparties, Cash Management, and Liquidity Risk Management would be preferred but not required. Time-type:Full time FLSA Status:Exempt Freddie Mac offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and market-leading benefit programs. Information on these benefit programs is available on our Careers site. This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $194,000 - $290,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
