General Summary Assist guests in the proper use of pool facilities and equipment. Monitor activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and to provide a safe and healthy aquatic environment for hotel guests. Maintains cleanliness of pool deck area and provides excellent guest service. Handle any emergencies as appropriate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Maintains supervision of the pool, ensuring the safety of the pool area. * Appropriately addresses any issues, concerns or rule violations with guests. * Recognizes and responds effectively to all emergencies. * Enforces all facility rules and regulations. * Maintains a clean and attractive pool environment. * Reports any unsafe conditions to the pool manager or lead lifeguard. * Performs on poolside stage with games and activities for guests. * Perform any other duties as assigned by management. * Provide outstanding guest service to all internal and external guests. Requirements: Job Specifications - Qualifications * Must be at least 16 years of age. * One to three months of related experience or training preferred. * Must have excellent guest service skills. * Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally. * Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in emergency situations. * Ability to effectively communicate in both one-on-one and group settings. * Must be able to obtain and maintain all cards required by the company. * Must be able to verify right to work in the U.S. Working Conditions - Physical Requirements * Frequently walk, stand or stoop (over 75% of the time). * Ability to walk and/or run on slippery surfaces (over 75% of the time). * Regularly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (50% of the time). * Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 200 lbs. * Speech, hearing, literacy, and vision (critical). * Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels and extreme weather conditions (over 75% of the time).
