As a Senior Planner, you will perform advanced professional municipal planning activities related to zoning, development review, long-range comprehensive planning, and policy planning. The Senior Planner values people and perspectives by: * Working actively with applicants, consultants, the community, and City staff to evaluate development and permit proposals. * Acting as the lead planner within the department for specific community development programs. They are on the leading edge when they: * Monitors Met Council and other regional and state planning agency activities. * Researches and recommends trends and development in the field on municipal planning. And they expect the best by: * Reviews and evaluates development applications, building permits, and other applications to ensure compliance with city, state and federal regulations. * Provides professional planning assistance on varied land use applications. * A Bachelor's degree in urban planning or a related field, and four years of professional planning experience, or an equivalent combination. * Local government experience preferred.
