Job Description: The primary responsibility of the Distribution Supervisor is ensuring the department is run efficiently, safely, and that drivers adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Regular Communication with all departments are vital. It is important for the Distribution Supervisor to understand all aspects of the operation, taking into consideration all pertinent policies and regulations, while managing the work force employees to achieve maximum efficiency of the department. The Transportation and Distribution Supervisor shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Conflict Management See conflict as an opportunity to resolve issues, read situations quickly, be a good listener, settle disputes equitably and find common ground enabling cooperation. Delegation Establish clear directions and lay out work in an organized manner, distribute both routine and important tasks to share responsibility and accountability, set stretch objectives, and maintain two-way dialogue with employees. Managing Others Treat people fairly and consistently, be timely and candid when problems arise, regularly review, and have performance discussions, does not allow problems to fester. Measures Progress Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions, sets clear and measurable objectives, monitor progress, roadblocks and results, designs feedback loops into work. • Planning Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks/projects, set objectives and goals, determines process steps, schedules, and assignments, adjusts for problems, measures performance, and evaluates results. Process Management Knows how to best get things done, organizes people and activities, easily separates, and combines tasks for efficiencies, knows what and how to measure progress and results, sees opportunities for synergy and integration, knows how to simplify complex processes. Must have Commercial Driver's License, be at least 21 years of age, and have a good driving record; past route sales experience is preferred.
