Editorial Assistant
The Editorial Assistant's primary responsibility will be engaging with journal submissions and correspondence the Editorial Manager website and TETYC Google Drive. The editorial assistant consults with the editor in the production of the print and web editions of the magazine.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Editorial Assistant
* Manage journal workflow in the Editorial Manager System
* Manage journal workflow and record keeping in Google Drive
* Assist with the duties of Editor
* Report to the Teaching English in the Two-Year College Journal advisor and work 10-15 hours a week
* Attend all class meetings and participate in class activities and discussions.
Attend virtual TETYC Advisory Board meeting each semester
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications
Editorial Assistant
* SLCC student (full- or part-time) or a recent graduate of SLCC
* Familiarity with web management and Google Drive
* Interest in writing studies
* Knowledge of basic principles of writing and editing
Preferred Qualifications
Editorial Assistant
* Have taken or are taking ENGL 2040
* Writing Studies major
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Detail oriented and organized.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
