Harborview Medical Center Surgical Emergent and Integrated Clinical Services, has a leadership opportunity for an Associate Chief Nursing Officer of Perioperative Services. This role reports to the Associate Administrator of Surgical Emergent and Integrated Clinical Services. The ACNO will be integral in: Development and overseeing multiple departmental cost centers Adherence to mission, values, vison, strategic and business goals Patient and staff safety RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to) Leadership, internal relations and teamwork. Development and maintenance of department policies, procedures and protocols. Promotes a collegial, fun working environment, centered around team atmosphere Human resources management Mentor, coaches and develops staff. Recruits and retains best qualified staff. Regulatory management Maintain a safe working environment. Initiates, implements and evaluates appropriate CQI actives within the department. Financial management Oversees the development of capital and operation budgets. Leads and develops initiatives to cut costs while maintaining quality of care. Patient Care management Provides leadership to assigned areas to maintain clinical operations and the provision of quality surgical care. Actively elicit patient/family/physician/other discipline perceptions of care and make changes for improvements. SCHEDULE 100%-Day shift REQUIREMENTS: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing Master of Science in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or other related healthcare of science fields An equivalent combination of education and experiences may substitute for required education. Have/Obtain a WA state RN license to practice or an MSL Five or more years in health care management Candidates will also have knowledge and understanding of: Effective managing, developing, and evaluating the competence and satisfaction of assigned workforce. Effective operational problem solving and communication at all levels. Effective interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration and service coordination. Effective evaluation of departmental practices, policies, and continuous process improvement. Effective planning and evaluation of space, resources, numbers and skills of staff to fulfill mission.
