BELLINGHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS BELLINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS TITLE: Career Pathways Intership Coordinator POSITION SUMMARY: The Career Pathways Internship Coordinator will coordinate, develop and maintain the internship program that includes the Innovation Pathways and support the Project Lead the Way Coordinator. The Career Pathways Internship Coordinator will work with high school students and provide career exploration opportunities, organize and manage internship experiences, and assist with securing student employment. The Career Pathways Internship Coordinator will assist students in securing career development opportunities - such as Innovation Pathways, Bellingham High School academic pathways, Dual Enrollment opportunities, and student internships. This position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining business and industry partnerships to enhance internship opportunities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assess students for interests and aptitudes using evidence-based tool. * Provide career exploration opportunities by providing career-specific information and materials and assisting with planned career-specific field trips and speakers * Collaborate with the school to develop a career fai * Provide work readiness services, such as: Resume writing, interviewing skills, business etiquette * Recruit and engage employers to provide internship placements or jobs * Serve as liaison to business after placement to troubleshoot issues * "Screen" candidates prior to placement, and job match * Provide opportunities for employers to support career exploration efforts * Support students while at work by: * Use a Work-Based Learning Plan as a measure of competencies and skill-building tool, and as support for employer * Facilitate engagement of school administration, guidance personnel, and teachers, making them aware of career services available to students * Meet with students regularly to create and manage MyCAP (My Career and Academic Plan) * Adhere to DESE mandates for program and placement protocols * Collect and submit participant data on scheduled deadlines in the required format * Other duties as assigned. SKILLS/ABILITY: * Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred. * Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and/or DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: * MA DESE Certification Required (Business or Stem related field preferred) * Master's degree required. * Minimum of five years' experience working with young people and/or employment and training programs, preferred. * Other work and community experiences will be taken into consideration. SALARY: As per BTA Contract PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to move about the classroom and have the ability to bend, sit or stand frequently. REPORTS TO: Building Principal SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Students OUR MISSION: The Bellingham Public School District's enrollment is approximately 1,930 students and an organizational staff of 400 employees. The district is split into the following building grade levels: DiPietro Elementary (Preschool - Grade 3), Stall Brook Elementary (Preschool - Grade 3) Bellingham Memorial School (grades 4-7) and Bellingham High School (grades 8-12), and Keough Memorial Academy (grades 7-12) is our therapeutic day school for students with special needs.
