The Tax Accountant will report to one of the MGMRI's Tax Managers and primarily assist with the preparation of the company's federal income tax returns and federal income tax provisions. THE DAY-TO-DAY: * Assist with the collection of information from other departments within MGMRI needed to prepare calculations of book/tax differences. * Prepare partnership tax return workpapers and Form 1065's, U.S. Partnership Return of Income. * Prepare calculations of temporary book/tax differences such as calculations related to prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, investments in pass-through entities, progressive jackpots, and leases for inclusion in the company's federal consolidated income tax return and income tax provision. * Prepare calculations of permanent book/tax differences such as calculations of meals and entertainment expenses, employee parking, fines and penalties, lobbying expenses, club dues, and political contributions for inclusion in the company's federal consolidated income tax return and income tax provision. * Prepare lead schedules that support the company's federal consolidated return including lead-sheets for partnership investments, amortization, tax credits, and Section 163(j). * Assist with preparation of the company's Nevada commerce tax returns. * Assist with various other tasks or projects including assisting with the Company's state income tax compliance and assisting with the company's tax accounting for its fixed assets. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: * Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business management. * At least one (1) year of accounting/audit experience. WHAT CAN HELP YOU STAND OUT: * Experience with Microsoft Excel. * Tax experience working in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department. * Basic knowledge of preparing federal income tax returns such as Form 1120's and Form 1065's. * Knowledge of preparing federal income tax provisions under ASC 740. * Experience with Alteryx, Power Query, or other data wrangling software applications. * Basic knowledge of Oracle EPM, ERP, and ARCS.
