Description: The legal internship position is in the Office of General Counsel of a NYSE generic pharmaceutical company. Interest in corporate law or healthcare law is a plus, but not required. The internship will expose you to various practice areas such as corporate law, litigation, regulatory, and compliance. The intern's broad range of responsibilities may include, researching legal issues, drafting transactional documents, attending internal client meetings and collaborating with internal teams on cross-group projects. Types of Assignments: * Assist with negotiating and drafting contracts under supervision of in-house counsel * Research and writing assignments * Assist the attorneys in the Legal Department with various day-to-day legal matters * Provide litigation support * Maintain order of legal documents * Assist with licensing and state registrations * Corporate compliance * Drafting memoranda and other legal documents * Review and prepare correspondence Skills Required: * Students should be in good standing and currently enrolled in a 3-year JD program at an accredited law school in the United States * Current law student (2L preferred but will consider strong 1L) * Strong research and legal drafting skills * Ability to work on a team and operate independently * Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across a number of different internal groups and departments * Ability to prioritize job duties * Demonstrate capability to work efficiently, meet deadlines and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment * Ability to research and learn new concepts and legal issues quickly to facilitate problem solving * Attention to detail * Excellent analytical and organizational skills * Willingness to learn and take initiative * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Prerequisites: minimum GPA of 3.0
