The Harris-Walz Campaign is seeking a national campaign spokesperson for the communications team in Wilmington. Under the direction of the Senior Advisor for Communications, the national spokesperson’s responsibilities include drafting and sending press materials, managing stories with a variety of outlets, providing on-the-record statements and information to the press, and other duties as assigned. We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.

Key Responsibilities

Work with national and local media reporters on campaign-related stories, including as an on-the-record spokesperson. Draft press materials including statements, press releases, and background for the media, as well as manage appropriate internal clearances for press materials. Pitch and proactively flack key campaign priorities and messages to press. Coordinate with surrogates, including teams for elected officials, key organizations, and other prominent voices, to manage and shape stories. Provide internal guidance and updates to relevant senior staff on campaign stories. Proactively monitor and track emerging press narratives and brief senior communications staff. Collaborate with communications team senior staff and other team members on additional projects, as needed. Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Previous spokesperson experience and work with elected officials, national organizations or entities. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Proactive and solutions-oriented work style, and ability to identify opportunities to uplift campaign in the press. Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure with humor and grace, especially during breaking news. Strong follow through of internal and external processes to meet deadlines. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a detail-oriented manner and coordinate with campaign staff at all levels. Ability to handle projects with the appropriate level of discretion and confidentiality. A team player that recognizes the importance of working collaboratively.

$95,000 - $120,000 a year Due to FEC regulations, only U.S. citizens or U.S. green card holders are eligible to apply for this role. This position is CWG bargaining unit eligible.
