The Opportunity In this role the Medical Directors will be required to perform one or more of the following activities depending on areas of expertise or assignment to specific activities, molecules, or disease/therapeutic areas. Key Responsibilities * Design, execute, and monitor medical strategies throughout product lifecycle * Oversee clinical study conduct and serve as a medical monitor * Provide clinical training/education to internal stakeholders and external customers as applicable * Conduct scientific exchange with customers * Monitor and differentiate adverse events in collaboration with medical monitoring team * Provide clinically meaningful perspective for regulatory and scientific communications Who you are Required Qualifications & Experience * Advanced degree (MD, OD, PhD, PharmD) in life sciences * 3-10 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience in ophthalmology with a preference for retina * Prior experience with clinical trial conduct, medical monitoring and medical data review * Prior experience with surgical video reviews and content development and/or execution of surgical education activities in ophthalmology * Strong customer engagement experience * Expert-level understanding of VEGF-mediated retinal disorders and available treatments * Understanding of Phase I-III and/or Phase IV drug development * Considerable experience in data analysis, interpretation, medical writing, and presentation * Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives with self-motivation to execute projects at an outstanding level Preferred Experience * MD with Board Certification in Ophthalmology and Retina or Glaucoma fellowship * MD, OD, PhD, or PharmD in vision and eye-related sciences * Consistent track record in developing strong relationships within the healthcare system * Strong academic or teaching background Travel Requirements Domestic and international business travel, by air or car, is required for internal and external business meetings, typically occurring once a month, with occasional instances of several times per month. The expected salary range for this position is $248,200 - 460,900. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
