DESCRIPTION Sr. Radiation Therapy Technologist provide daily set-up and treatment of patients. They perform CT Simulations, and MU calculations. Radiation Therapy technologists will also manage the patient by using Aria, Patient Manager, Treatment, and Time Planner. This level of technologist is differentiated from the Staff level by the degree of expertise needed to perform the duties of the position, and the complexity of these duties. At this level technologists are expected to prepare and assists with brachytherapy treatment, simulate the planned course of treatment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, construct and prepare immobilization devices and administer contrast media. This level is responsible for identifying and managing patients in crisis. This level provide leadership within established teams for special projects, day to day work performed, and patient satisfaction. This includes: providing training to junior therapists and other therapists as appropriate, advising and directing junior and other therapists in new or difficult procedures. Senior technologists identify and investigate problems arising with departmental processes or treatment procedures and make recommendations on corrective action, they understands equipment repairs and possess in-depth understanding of therapist roles and responsibilities, the bi-directional impact with other areas within the dept (eg dosimetry, nursing, etc.), and overall departmental processes and its effect on patient care. Sr. technologists may assume principal therapist duties in the absence of a principal therapist or as delegated by the principal or chief therapist. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * California Radiation Therapy Technologist. * Registered Technologist for Radiation Therapy issued by ARRT (R.T(R)(ARRT)). * BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. * Minimum of two to four (2-4) years of experience as a Radiation Therapy Technologist. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Leadership experience. * Experience with Aria, Patient Manager, Treatment, and Time Planner. SPECIAL CONDITIONS * Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. * Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $136,054 - $169,232 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $65.16 - $81.05 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
