Pay Schedule VI, Grade 26, Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week A vacancy exists in the Department of Health and Human Services, Finance and Administration. Examples of Duties Job Purpose Under close supervision, performs routine professional human resources administration work. Essential Job Duties * Manages the payroll process for the agency and coordinates other employees entering payroll information. * Answers questions and interprets and explains rules about leave markings to employees and managers and ensures agency staff are paid appropriately. * Tracks and performs a variety of transactions including pay increases, leave of absences, transfers and retirements. * Processes on-line transactions related to entry of new employees, changes and exits of employees. * Reviews, processes, and prepares payrolls for certification. * Reviews and processes miscellaneous personnel action requests in Workday system. * Assists in interpreting personnel rules for employees. * Explains personnel records, leave rules, holidays, payroll administration, and other general administrative procedures to individual employees or agencies. * Uses computer software packages and other automated office systems to generate a variety of documents, including lists, tables, reports, correspondence and other personnel documents. * Creates and maintains agency databases and files. * Manage recruitment(s) for assigned programs - track vacancies, review and approve requisitions submitted, process selected candidate, make offers, process new hires in Workday. * Participates in special personnel projects as assigned. * Assists in the development and maintenance of automated personnel recordkeeping systems. Qualifications Required Education and Experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources administration, business or public administration, education, or psychology. Experience in human resources administration may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required education. Proof ofLicenses, Certifications and Education Applicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferredqualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Conditions of Employment Physical and Environmental Conditions The work of this classification is essentially sedentary. Some positions may involve occasional travel between work sites. Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.
