We have an opportunity for an accomplished mechanical engineer to lead development and ramp for a next generation Apple product. Description Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include: * Review and provide feedback on design/design intent of components and assemblies. * Set standard manufacturing practices and independently determine impact to design and parameters to the final product. * Partner with internal and external cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at concept phase and set expectations for manufacturing processes. * Develop new and/or improved processes for parts and assemblies through the application of theoretical and practical engineering. * Drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members. * Drive design experiments to prove out manufacturing processes or design iterations. * Design for Manufacturability - Provide early and on going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable. * Process Engineering - Design and develop technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency * Present technical issues and updates to Apple management team and cross functional team on a frequent basis * Provide creative solutions for engineering challenges or issues related to assembly process * International travel to supplier sites, up to 30%. Internal Details Key Qualifications * Creative problem solving experience * Experience in process development/bring up and qualification * Program/project management experience * Manufacturing or supplier management experience * Working knowledge of GD&T and Engineering Drawing Interpretation * Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods and theory * Good command of Excel and JMP * Knowledge of Metrology design and Optical/Contact Measurement Equipment is preferred * Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Pay & Benefits * At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,200 and $227,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
