Category Transportation and Logistics Location Irving, Texas Job function Operations Job family Logistics/Couriers Shift Evening Employee type Regular Full-Time Work mode On-site Senior Logistics Supervisor - Irving, TX - Monday - Friday - 11:00AM-8:00PM The Sr. Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing departmental operations in a variety of situations e.g. at a Regional Lab site, at a large Logistics hub that is a substantial distance from the main Regional Lab (TBD by Regional Logistics Director) and/or additional smaller hubs across a large geography. In addition to Logistics operations, the Senior Supervisor may have additional responsibilities e.g. facilities at smaller sites. * Capable to perform all duties and responsibilities of the RSR, Sp. RSR, Adv. RSR Float, Adv. RSR Trainer, Group Leader, Logistics Supervisor. * Participates in the interview, selection and hiring of new employees that demonstrate Quest Behaviors. * Establishes and cultivates an inclusive, motivational, enabling and performance oriented work environment through engagement, collaboration, and transparent communication. * Drives an environment of continuous process improvement locally by engaging employees to implement ideas that will simplify and improve their work. Supports being united as one team on enterprise continuous improvement methodologies and initiatives as appropriate. * Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills; Agile in managing concerns of internal and external customers and employees in a professional manner. * Communicates and interacts regularly and transparently with employees; disseminates information in a timely manner. * Responsible for performance oriented supervision, training, coaching, and developing new employees and all staff on all job duties, compliance, and annual competency requirements. * Prepares employee schedules; monitors employee attendance and performance; maintains adequate departmental coverage; provides corrective action and counseling as required. Prepares and administers annual performance appraisals. * Reinforces customer focused improvement by investigating, resolving, and responding to internal and external customer complaints efficiently and effectively using Everyday Excellence Principles. * Organizes and leads projects both within the work group and with cross-functional groups, united as one team. Meets all deadlines assigned by manager. May be required to give presentations within business unit. * Oversees safety, ergonomics, inventory, maintenance, and cleanliness of department (including upgrades) * Ensures required trainings are completed by self and staff to meet deadlines: (i.e. Compliance, Safety, Safe Driver, etc.). * Manages daily departmental operations and workflow to meet Turn-around Time (TAT) requirements and/or deadlines. * Maintains logistics services for specimen pickup within the areas served by area of responsibility. * Working with the Manager to provide short/long term range planning for the logistics area in order to meet departmental requirements and client needs. * Works with Managers to analyzes and manage a departmental budget for manpower and operational costs. * Responsible for the accuracy of invoice and expense coding and associated records * Responsible for the accuracy of payroll and associated records. * Properly maintains required records and documentation. * Knows where to find, understands, can properly articulate and complies with company and departmental policies, protocols and procedures including but not limited to Safety, Compliance, Vehicle, Employee Handbook, and Quality Assurance. * Valid State driver's license with a driving record that meets Quest Driver's Safety requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Required Work Experience: * 7+ years in logistics field * 10 years Supervisory experience Preferred Work Experience: N/A Physical and Mental Requirements: * Position requires travel * Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; including weekends, holidays, on call and overtime * Occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds * May require extended periods of focus * May require extended periods of sitting or standing * Ability to manage stress * Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high volume setting Knowledge: * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) * Proficiency with OSP, QDTrac, PeopleSoft and other Quest Diagnostics IT systems * QMS Methodology Skills: * Strong problem-solving skills * Strong interpersonal skills * Strong leadership skills * Strong teamwork skills * Strong decision-making skills * Strong communication skills * Agile * Customer Focused * Transparent * United as One Team * Performance Oriented * Quality * Integrity * Innovation * Accountability * Collaboration * Leadership EDUCATION Associates Degree High School Diploma or Equivalent(Required) LICENSECERTIFICATIONS Quest Diagnostics honors our service members and encourages veterans to apply.
