In Fremont, CA, we serve global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing innovative optical modules and subsystems to support our customer's next generation networks. This person of Chief Architect will work in a multi-discipline R&D team, interact with sales and marketing, product line managers, lead to develop optical network key modules and solutions and work with colleagues of different geographic sites. What You Will Do * Lead Optical Amplifier, ROADM and other optical product specification development and architecture design, evaluate and recommend solutions for customers. * Partition development tasks and define product level spec, review and approval function and interface specs, testing specification and reliability plan. * Supervise cross functional teams' design and documentation, conduct design review, and make technical decision * Lead team on product diagnostic/testing specification and testing plan, provide guidance on manufacturing testing strategy * Technical lead with muliti function engineering resources for customer technical support, as well as providing technical guidance in problem solving of issues that may arise in manufacturing. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Strong knowledge of Telecom/Datacom standards, specifications and methodologies, knowledge and experience on Ethernet, OTN, SDN * Strong knowledge and experience in Amplified WDM, ROADM based optical transmission systems modeling, simulation, and performance tradeoff analysis * Strong knowledge and experience on optical transceivers, WDM, EDFA, Raman Amplifier, WSS, OCM, OTDR, and other optical centric network elements * Strong knowledge and experience on network product hardware and software design, familiar with FPGA, embedded system, NetConf/YANG, Sonic, etc. * BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics * 15 years + of Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, Network experience in Telecom, Datacom industry For this role, we anticipate paying $175,000 - $240,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
