Learn more here. Work Schedule: This position follows a 40-hour work schedule, typically Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. The schedule is subject to change during holiday weeks or emergency services, which may include weekends, nights, or holidays. About the Role: As a Mowing Supervisor, you will be a working supervisor on a mowing/landscaping crew, responsible for the grounds maintenance of City of Greensboro parks, buildings, and rights of way. Key responsibilities include managing multiple projects, supervising and coaching team members, overseeing work management documentation, and handling personnel matters such as employee development and training. You'll also ensure compliance with OSHA and Parks and Recreation Department safety rules and policies, as well as standard operating procedures for mowing, landscaping, and pesticide application. This role requires strong communication and writing skills, the ability to prepare reports, and proficiency in following verbal and written instructions. You will frequently use software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), EAM work management software, and Kronos time-keeping software. Physical duties for this position include standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, shoveling, and lifting heavy items up to 50 pounds. Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions. You must maintain good attendance and have a reliable means of contact (home or cellular telephone). Licenses Required: You must obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a tanker endorsement within 120 days of employment and a North Carolina Pesticide License within 1 year of employment. This job is Non-Exempt and subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). What You Bring: Minimum Qualifications: * High School Diploma/GED with 1-3 years of experience in commercial mowing or landscaping,  * "OR" No High School Diploma/GED with 5-7 years of experience in commercial mowing or landscaping. * Valid driver's license. * Valid NC Pesticide License ("OR" the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment).   Preferred Qualifications: * Valid Class A or B commercial driver's license. * Possession of a current CPSI "Certified Playground Safety Inspector" certification. * Associate's Degree or higher in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field. * Experience with EAM or other work management software. * Supervisory experience.   Ready to Lead?
