Performance Responsibilities: * Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. * Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. * Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students. * Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. * Strives to maintain and improve professional competence. * Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees. * Acts in a professional and ethical manner at all times to uphold the school and community values. * Oversees and manages athletic programs, ensuring compliance with IHSAA regulations and guidelines. * Develops and implements policies and procedures for coaches and athletes. * Prepares and manages the budget for athletic programs. * Hires, trains, and evaluates coaches and support staff. * Schedules sports events and games with other schools and organizations. * Ensures the safety and well-being of student-athletes. * Promotes and encourages participation in athletic programs for both boys and girls. * Communicates with parents, school administrators, and the community about athletic programs. * Act as a liaison with selectors, leagues and IHSAA. * Coordinate with coaches on team travel, game scheduling and practice sessions. * Prepare and present reports on team performance and needs for improvement. * Assist in the promotion of good athletic relationships in the community. * Follow all school and board procedures in regards to the management of the program.
