Position Information Position Availability: Internal only Position Title: Student Writer, Student Assistant Specialist, India China Institute Requisition Number: 0406073544 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Provost/Provost's Office Responsibilities: ICI is looking for a highly motivated TNS student to work part-time with the India China Institute. The person must have good command of the English language and preferably have experience in public writing and copy editing. The selected person will support content-driven efforts at the Institute including the following tasks: * Write and/or copy edit newsletters, website content, public programme notices, and other communications; * Draft proposals and reports as needed; * Copyedit ICI fellows' works and others when needed; * Provide marketing and program support; * Provide office support as needed. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently but is also comfortable collaborating with multiple team members, with a positive attitude, and be resourceful in identifying news and research on international affairs, especially those related to India and China. Work Mode: Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. Wage: Up to $21.00 per hour. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position will demand contribution by deadline and flexible working hours for an average of 12 hours per week. Candidates must have excellent academic standing, as well as possess industry work experiences and a good mix of skill sets that speaks well to the program/project management of the India China Institute. An ideal candidate should have acted as a consultant to provide expertise and industry insights related to the research agenda of the India China Institute. The candidate must have hands-on experience managing community events, and/or been in charge of communications and strategic marketing.
