The laboratory of Dr. Kiran Kurmi in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a Research Associate 1 to join our new research team. Our lab focuses on understanding how metabolism adapts in proliferative cells, such as cancer cells and activated T cells. * Contribute to innovative research utilizing advanced molecular and chemical biology techniques, including molecular cloning, PCR, Western blotting, protein purification, enzyme kinetics, flow cytometry, metabolite extraction, LC-MS analysis, mouse studies, and mitochondrial biology. * Understand and interpret research protocols and ensure all research is conducted according to good research practices. * Participate in the publication of significant research findings. * Stay current with relevant publications, methods, techniques, and advancements in the field. * Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies. * Conduct calculations, collect data, and perform statistical analysis of laboratory results. * Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures, ensuring the safeguarding of university assets.
