We are currently seeking a Plumbing Design Intern role in our New York, NY office Scope The Plumbing Design Intern will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide plumbing design solutions to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in analysis, design, and implementation oversight of plumbing systems for the vertical building industry. This position will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. Principal Responsibilities * Assist in the design and analysis of plumbing and fire protection systems utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards * Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress * Analyze lower complexity design tasks. Collaborate with internal team to develop practical and efficient solutions * Introductory participation in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs meet IMEG quality standards industry standards and client requirements * Prioritize safety in all aspects of design work * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals Required Skills/Abilities * Strong interest in design consulting * Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook * Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software * Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups Education and Experience * Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required * Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred * This position is not eligible for sponsorship Physical Requirements * Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds * Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull * Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises Salary Range $22 - $24 per hour. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
