Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/. Job summary Responsible for leading direct reports and production personnel to improve quality and output in a manufacturing operation. Accountable for achieving production targets while maintaining cost controls. At this level, the position has a greater degree of impact on the business results and typically, responsibility for leading a group of professionals. This position reports directly to the Business Unit Leader Absorbable Materials and/or Plant Manager, Cornelia. Duties & responsibilities Under (e.g. limited supervision, general direction, etc.) and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position: * Lead all hiring, training, planning, assigning, development and performance management of direct reports and operations associates. * Provides leadership to the Manufacturing Operation by implementing to operations-wide strategies and objectives and participates in the development of plant manufacturing strategies and objectives. * Monitors manufacturing operation to ensure product is produced in compliance with GMP's, ISO, and other Regulatory requirements. * Work to reduce all critical defects through the recall prevention program. * Participate in developing, monitoring and effectively applying dashboards, control charts and operational indicators. Take action to correct and ensure acceptable customer service levels are met while managing budget to meet financial projections. * Ensure accurate departmental staffing and provide development and technical training opportunities to optimally apply human resources. * Establish an environment conducive to all people regardless of race, gender, or other differences. * Personally, use Process Excellence tools effectively and build a culture that ensures all levels in the department are using the tools along with metrics to improve the business. * Support technical activities to ensure continuous process improvement and process control. * Support development activities for both product and process and new product introductions. * Lead and coordinate all production activities through subordinates and direct hourly associates to achieve goals consistent with high quality, reliability, availability, and cost requirements. * Develop, track, and drive improvement in applicable measures contributing to improvement in productivity, cycle time, unit manufacturing cost, process yield, and inventory investment. * Develop and implement expense and capital budgets and supervise progress to ensure compliance with business plans. * Ensure compliance of operation with internal policies and procedures. Drive timely resolution of non-conformance and product complaints and ensure systemic improvement of procedures, equipment, and processes. * Ensure maximum associate efficiency and utilization through regular frequent updating of staffing models. * Drive improvement of cross training and flexibility of all production associates. Lead associates in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. * Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level * Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable * Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures * Performs other duties assigned as needed
