Department RAISE Kansas Job Posting Title RAISE Kansas Assistant Program Director (part-time) Job Description This is a part-time, temporary, grant-funded position that is subject to grant renewal. This position will work in Western Kansas to promote the Rural Alliance Investing in STEMM Education (RAISE) Kansas STEMM FIRE program which takes groups of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Medical (STEMM) career professionals to rural Kansas schools to increase interest in STEMM education and careers. Assist with the development of Educonomies pilot program in several Western Kansas communities: ie bringing schools, local economy, and community leaders together to form long term solutions for growth, success, and stability. This position requires occasional travel to Western Kansas and remote work is possible. This position reports to the Raise Kansas Executive Program Director. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution * Detail oriented and organized * Self-motivated * Ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively * Competency with record-keeping * Customer service and interpersonal skills * Ability to use good judgment in making independent decisions * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications * Must have a valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a STEMM or Education field Job duties: Promote the RAISE Kansas STEMM FIRE and Pilot Educonomy Programs. Increase the number of Western Kansas schools visited by RAISE Kansas by making connections and building relationships with schools. Organize the school trips by contacting local and regional STEMM professionals to come to the schools as speaker volunteers. A substantial list of volunteers has already been formed. Attend/Facilitate Western Kansas School visits - requires travel to each school. Assist students with job shadowing and mentoring requests - Once a student presents a request, reach out to appropriate employers to facilitate the mentorship/job shadowing. Coordinate with Executive Director to visit graduating classes of collegiate seniors (at FHSU, KU, KSU, WSU, ESU) preparing to teach rural STEMM. Provide graduating students knowledge of RAISE Kansas programs, offer support, and identify needs to improve rural new teacher retention. Coordinate with Executive Director to ensure at least one RAISE Kansas representative attends applicable educator conferences in Kansas to promote RAISE Kansas program. Assist the Pilot Educonomy Program Director to facilitate the development of this program and build relationships in these cohort Western Kansas communities. Other duties as mutually agreed upon with the Executive Director as programs evolve - such as assisting in coordinating community or regional career exploration events for students.
