Position Snapshot * Location: Panama City, PANAMA * Company: Nestrade Procurement Division * Act. Rate: Full-Time Act. Rate 100 % * Type of contract: Permanent contract * Modern "smart office" locations providing agile & collaborative workspaces. Position Summary: We are currently looking for a highly competent Commodity Market Research Analyst based in Panama. In this position, you will be responsible for developing cereals and grains commodity markets insight by gathering news and data and analyzing them to produce forward-looking research. The focus will be on grains markets. In addition, you will be supporting the cereals and grains team in building their buying strategy. Located in hubs in Switzerland, Panama and Malaysia, our division provides a range of services, including the management of procurement for specific raw materials, packaging, indirect materials and other services. A day in a life of a Market Research Analyst - Grains: * Build detailed fundamental supply and demand database and models for grains categories (corn, soybean meal, wheat). * Monitor key macroeconomic and category specific indicators. * Support the procurement teams in defining the hedging purchasing strategy of a specific category. * Produce regular reports and ad hoc analysis based on market developments * Leverage data analytics to automatize market updates and price models. * Present data and findings to internal stakeholders. What makes you successful: * Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics. A Master's degree is a strong asset. * Prior experience, notably in grains or agri-commodities in banks, trading house or producers * Strong analytical and quantitative skills and strong knowledge of: o MS Excel and Power Point o Previous experience in building commodity forecasting (econometric) models. o Interactive Data Visualization tools (Power BI) is a plus. o Programming (Python, SQL, Java or C++ is a plus) is a plus. * Strong written and verbal communications skills in English.
