Salary Grade: T25 Learn more about the "T" salary structure here: https://careers.temple.edu/sites/careers/files/documents/T_Salary_Structure.pdf Job Summary: The Laboratory Manager for Teaching Labs in the College of Science & Technology's Biology division will oversee the setup, maintenance and preparations of all technical supplies required for the successful operation of all teaching laboratories in the Biology Department. The Laboratory Manager is an essential member of the laboratory instructional team for courses with a lab component in the Biology Department and is the direct supervisor of all members of the lab management team. The Laboratory Manager assigns laboratory courses to team members (including the Manager) for the semester, and coordinates with course instructors, lab coordinators, and lab instructors to ensure efficient operation and function of all teaching labs. Coordinates purchasing of common/shared lab materials across all labs to lower purchasing cost and eliminate duplicate effort. For courses directly overseen by the Laboratory Manager, they prepare for, set up, and break down the weekly labs for those courses. Additional responsibilities include preparing reagents/materials and maintaining/deploying equipment. The Laboratory Manager also oversees the repair, maintenance, and replacement of major equipment used in teaching labs, and the organization and clean-up of shared prep storage spaces. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and three years of directly related laboratory management/research experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
