Position Overview Navistar is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer Lead-Paint Engineer to join their team in San Antonio! The Senior Manufacturing Engineer Lead-Paint Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of robotic systems for paint applications, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand paint process requirements and translate them into robotic programming strategies. Responsibilities * Program and optimize robotic systems, including Fanuc robots, for various paint applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing production lines * Conduct testing and validation of robotic systems to ensure performance meets quality and safety standards * Troubleshoot and debug robotic systems, identifying and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity * Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in robotic paint applications, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation * Provide technical support and training to production staff on the operation and maintenance of robotic systems * Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate robotic equipment and components, ensuring compatibility and reliability * Participate in new product development projects, providing expertise on robotic paint applications and contributing to design reviews and feasibility studies * Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards governing robotic systems and paint processes * Oversee the setup, calibration, and maintenance of painting equipment and systems * Conduct comprehensive analyses of paint defects, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to uphold product integrity * Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing paint consumption, minimizing waste, and enhancing environmental sustainability Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree * At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing OR * Master's degree * At least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing OR * At least 7 years of experience in product manufacturing Additional Requirements * Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
