Job Overview: A highly respected law firm is seeking a Junior Associate for its Commercial Litigation Department in Chicago. The position focuses on healthcare litigation, False Claims Act actions, internal and government investigations, and general commercial litigation. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on high-stakes cases, collaborate with a strong legal team, and build a robust litigation practice.

Location: Chicago, IL

Duties:

Handle a wide range of commercial litigation matters, with a focus on healthcare litigation and False Claims Act actions.

Assist in defending clients in high-stakes litigation, including banking and securities class actions, shareholder derivative suits, and regulatory investigations.

Participate in internal and government investigations.

Work closely with the e-discovery team to manage discovery in complex litigation cases.

Collaborate with the firm’s white-collar defense team to manage criminal proceedings when parallel to civil litigation.

Engage in alternative dispute resolution options to help clients achieve their objectives while reducing costs.

Requirements:

1-3 years of litigation experience.

Healthcare litigation experience is a plus but not required.

Strong academic credentials and excellent writing skills.

Preference for candidates who have completed a federal clerkship.

Ability to handle complex legal issues with strong analytical skills.

Education: Juris Doctor (JD)

degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications: Admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois or eligible for admission.

Skills:

Strong legal research and writing abilities.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to collaborate with senior attorneys and work independently on assigned cases.

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple litigation tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
