Description Under general supervision, this position provides logistical and procurement support to the department. Posted range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience. Examples of Duties * Manages procurement credit card by purchasing supplies for department that are under $3000; uses internet to purchase supplies online, phone, email, and fax to communicate and place orders with retailers; reconciles credit card on a monthly basis, comparing receipts and account summary with credit card company. * Maintains records for uniform and equipment issued or removed from service by filing forms in either personnel, station, or vehicle records; enters information into spreadsheet and/or database to track the inventory levels and budgetary expense, vehicle maintenance; programs, issues, maintains, and tracks all department radios and accessories; orders and procures all uniform and equipment that is used in the department. * Maintains required records for personnel protective gear/uniforms and equipment and other required regulations by tracking yearly inspection dates and repairs with serial number entered into spreadsheets and/or database; attends trainings to remain in compliance and educates the department on changes; ensures all repairs are done in a timely manner to keep vehicles, personnel, and equipment in service; communicates with vendors via phone, internet, and fax; maintains equipment. * Prepares/processes purchase orders for goods and services required by assessing need for equipment and/or gear for purchases over $3000 and verifies funds; communicates with vendor to obtain pricing through quotes for necessary items; ensures vendor is in the system and has vendor number; completes a purchase request; sends purchase order to selected vendor and maintains communication with vendor until receipt and payment of purchase; receives items in database program, copies receipt into email, and submits invoice to Account Payable for payment. * Subject to recall to duty for emergency response; sets up rehabilitation and logistic care of operation by purchasing water beverages, and food for rehydration; connects and loads trailer to truck, and drives to incident site to provide a place for rehabilitation; uses phone, internet, email, and fax to coordinate logistical support for incident. * Generates a variety of reports including monthly and quarterly project tracking and completion. Experience and Training * Graduation with an Associate's degree from an accredited college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school Additional work experience may substitute for education on a year-by-year basis. * Two (2) years of experience with procurement and logistics is required. * Demonstrated knowledge of modern office software (i.e., Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook). * Customer service experience preferred. Certificates and Licenses Required * Valid Texas Class C driver license or ability to obtain prior to employment.. * Depending on area of assignment: * Forklift certification or ability to obtain within time frame designated at the time of hire * Class A Texas driver's license or ability to obtain with time frame designated at time of hire * This position may require you to have or acquire a commercial driver's license (CDL). Federal law requires all CDL holders register with the USDOT Clearinghouse before operating a commercial vehicle. You will be required to enroll in the clearinghouse and sign a consent form allowing the City to run your name through the clearinghouse as a condition of employment.
