As our Post Surgical Acute Nurse at St. Joseph Health Bryan, you'll excel in your nursing career by caring for patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units, allowing you to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac, telemetry, orthopedics, neurology, critical care, surgical services, and emergency. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others - with a patient-first mindset. Keen assessment skills, critical thinking, and a sense of urgency support your career advancement, and you thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment where you will rarely experience the same day twice. Responsibilities * Track routine heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse ox levels * Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation * Quickly report and address any changes in condition * Patiently and thoroughly explain tests results and procedures to patients and family members * Educate patients on post-hospital care, including prescribed medicine, care maintenance, and prevention We are offering a $20,000 Sign On Bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
