Serves as the fiscal and data coordinator for the Baltimore City Cancer Program, within the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Center (a partnership of the University of Maryland, School of Medicine) and the University of Maryland Medical Center. Along with the Program's Administrator, reviews all Purchase of Service bills sent to the program, for accurate coding and pricing prior to scheduling payment. Upon approval, prepares the bills for payment. Manages and enters the programs screening results into the database of Maryland Department of Health (MDH). Runs monthly program reports via the database to report of screening services completed. The Program is grant-funded and operates at a West Baltimore location, conducting outreach and educating the community on cancer screening opportunities, providing at "No Cost" screening, diagnostic, and cancer treatment opportunities, as needed; and other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Ensures accuracy and integrity of data entered into the CaST database of the Maryland Department of Health. Produces monthly reports and queries for reporting. * Maintains data dictionaries, tables, and updates reimbursement rates according to each Medicare Part A & B/ Medicaid rate. Disburse these changes to all internal and external billing departments. * Communicates effectively with internal and external billing departments to resolve any billing concerns. * Monitors adherence to standards successfully. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience * Requires familiarity with relational databases and computer network environment, strong data entry skills and attention to detail * Requires medical billing experience, familiar with coding of CPT/HCPCS codes, and Medicare/Medicaid fee scheduling.
