Job Purpose or Objective(s): As a Legal Clerk, you will organize and expedite workflow and perform a variety of administrative tasks, simple analyses, and tracking information to support the tribal legal teams. You will report to the Tribal Prosecutor. Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm Primary Tasks: 1. You will delegate, distribute, and manage work to other admin staff and oversees front desk operations. 2. Create office administrative processes and procedures to ensure tasks are accurate. 3. Maintain detailed records of court proceedings, including identification of the title and nature of the case, names of parties, substance of complaint, date of hearings and trials, court and jury rulings, findings, orders, and other court filings. 4. Manage calendar and activities, schedule appointments/meetings and coordinates arrangements for meetings, conferences, and travel for the department. 5. Manage departmental requisitions, timekeeping data, and other daily business affairs. 6. Calculate compensation for victims, witness fees and reimbursements. 7. Type correspondence, legal pleadings, legal documents, reports, agendas, and other documents. 8. Intake all criminal, delinquent and felony files and enter information into office case management software, pull reports, and criminal history for the department. 9. Prepare routine special reports including gathering and summarizing confidential data. 10. Input data into programs, excel spreadsheets and case management software 11. Maintain database for streamlining processes and office documents. 12. Perform all other tasks as assigned. Job Requirements: * High School diploma or GED * Security clearance for CJIS * Familiarity with Computers including legal case management software, the Internet, and Microsoft excel (can perform complex functions). * Four years' experience as a legal secretary for a District Attorney or private attorney Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) About the Choctaw Nation The Choctaw Nation is the third-largest Indian nation in the United States, with over 200,000 tribal members and more than 11,000 employees.
