Job Description SUMMARY The Site Safety Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring the safety and health performance of Martin Resources Plainview . This position will report to the General Manager of the Plainview Facility. Responsibilities include: assisting in implementation of safety strategies, policies, and programs that promote sustainable organizational development. Organizing and reporting weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual safety documents. Constant review will be necessary which include; carrying out safety and health audits/assessments, identifying and resolving safety and health problems, and ensuring that necessary changes are implemented. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Supporting management at the Plainview facility with ensuring the safety and compliance of the workplace. * Examine facility activities to identify where improvements can be made to comply with safety and health; * Following initial training and continuing educational certifications, should demonstrate a working knowledge of safety rules and regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local. * Following initial training, the candidate should also show an ability, through demonstrated experience, to accomplish the following: conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with occupational and environmental health and safety requirements; assist in development, implementation and support employee training programs, workplace safety programs and procedures and policies. * Shall have the ability to lead and direct, assign or delegate work on a daily basis, develop and mentor employees and take corrective actions when necessary. * Leading the implementation of safety and health policies and practices; * Promoting and raising awareness, at all levels of the company's organization, of the impact of emerging safety and health issues, whether legislative or best practice, on corporate, ethical and social responsibility; * Participating in the development and implementation of a safety and health management system; * Maintaining relations with senior management and internal staff; * Coaching staff at all levels in safety and health issues and responsibilities; * Participates in safety and health aspects of the project concept, design, execution, and startup phases of the capital projects initiated on the site; * Strong and effective communicator in both individual and group settings, this includes oral and written communications; * Tracks safety auditing process, assist with the development of solutions for assigned corrective actions; * Perform any additional tasks that may be assigned by the General Manager of the Plainview facility; * Perform activities under direct supervision while maintaining the capability of working unassisted. Job Requirements EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High school or equivalent;Requires attention to detail; strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task; ability to work independently; proficiency with PC applications.
