The mentors will work in conjunction with the department's learning specialists to assist an at-risk population of student athletes. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities * Peer mentors work with our at-risk population in a more broad capacity than a tutor would; these "at-risk" students are typically underprepared by their high schools and need assistance in skill building and the transition into college * Works with 2-3 students per hour and on a consistent basis sees the same 10-12 students on a weekly basis Shift Specifics * Up to 17 hours per week * Flexible with schedule of availability * Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM * Mentoring timeslots are Monday - Thursday, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM, with an option of adding Sunday, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Required Qualifications Educational Requirements * Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University. Proposed Salary $14.00 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
