Description Now hiring a head gymnastic coach for a variety of classes. The program runs Monday-Sunday: mornings, afternoons, and evenings on a year-round basis. This is a non-benefited position working an average of 21 hours per week. Hiring Range: $24.67 - $29.02/hour All employees receive a free pass The Gymnastics Instructor/Coach 4 assists in planning and organizing the gymnastics program. The Coach also specializes in instruction for the sport of gymnastics for the Parent Tot groups through the Optional Competitive team level to participants ranging in ages from 1.5 to 17 years. Instructors maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the participants while following the protocol given to them by the Supervisor. The Head Coach will assist the Supervisor in creating the lesson plans and ensure each participant has an enjoyable experience while learning about the sport of gymnastics. The Head Coach will assist the Supervisor with competitions as well as staff training. The Head Coach models the appropriate behavior/characteristics to promote a positive work environment. Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties * Teaches class content appropriate to the class description and appropriate level of skill to each participant. * Demonstrates gymnastics techniques as required by each level. * Follows and enforces safety rules and regulations in the gym. * Set up and take down equipment as needed. * Evaluates participants on skill development, and provides feedback to participants and parents. * Provide coaching during competitive meets, assist Supervisor in hosting meets and staff training. * Attend scheduled meetings/training as required. * Assist Supervisor in scheduling, training, and certifying gymnastics staff. * Assist Supervisor in the organization and administration of the program. * Manage the gymnastics center, participants and coaching staff when the Supervisor is not available. Minimum Qualifications Training - High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to become C.A.R.A. Safety Certified. Must have attended at least three advanced optional spotting classes. Experience - Minimum four years experience teaching a youth gymnastics program and experience in learning and teaching Compulsory and Optional routines. OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the Necessary Applicant Traits. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have current, valid Community First Aid and CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. All applicants must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: skills assessment, oral board, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender check. Training * Must be willing to learn Compulsory routines and attend Gymnastics Instructor spotting clinics. * Must have attended 3 Advanced Optional Clinics. * Must be willing to become CARA safety certified. * Must be willing to learn the City and County of Broomfield's registration program. Working Conditions * May require lifting up to 75 lbs * Must provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the participant during instruction which includes a full range of physical abilities including: performing and maintaining aerobic exercise, bending, stretching, and lifting minimal weight. * Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or equipment. * Required to hear; stand; bend or twist from the upper body; use hands and/or feet to perform manual tasks such as spotting; reach with hands and arms; squat; and climb or balance. * Visual abilities including close, distant, depth, peripheral are required. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
