Job Summary The Farm Hand is responsible for maintaining all property/fields under Company control. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. * Responsible for cutting, raking, baling, and loading of hay from Plant LAS field or any other property used for hay harvesting. * Perform maintenance on fields performed during growth and dormant periods. * Perform repairs on perimeter fencing as necessary. * Report fence and field conditions to General Manager. * Responsible for grass cutting and removal from all other areas. * Operate the Plant LAS Irrigation system at the direction of the General Manager. * Maintain the Center Pivot Irrigation System according to manufacturer's standards or as Company policy dictates. * Responsible for all company farm equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles used. * All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Prior experience in farming, cultivation, and harvesting of hay. * Experience with hand tools and farming equipment required. * Good working knowledge of minor maintenance of equipment. Preferred Qualifications * High School diploma preferred. * Good communication skills both oral and written. * Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task. * Good math skills; multiplication and division of whole numbers. Physical Demands * Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch. * Frequently required to move up to 100 lbs. * Regularly required reach with hands and arms. * Regularly required to adapt to changing weather conditions; flexibility in changing schedules. Work Environment Job functions will be carried out on plant property with high concentration of time on farm tractor.
