Job Responsibilities About Our Agency: South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings. JOB DUTIES : * Serves as a reporter, producer, and/or host for SC Public Radio's local broadcast of All Things Considered. * Demonstrates solid experience in delivering high-quality, informative content with a clear and engaging speaking voice. * Exercises exceptional news judgment and uphold strong journalistic ethics in selecting and presenting stories. * Stays informed on national and South Carolina regional news to identify compelling story angles and respond effectively during breaking news events. * Utilizes in-studio audio production techniques proficiently to ensure broadcast quality. * Collaborates effectively with colleagues and guests, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills. * Adheres to Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations relevant to broadcasting, ensuring compliance at all times. Minimum and Additional Requirements * Proven experience as a reporter, producer, and/or host in a broadcasting environment. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Deep understanding of news production and editorial processes. * Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations pertaining to broadcasting. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of national and South Carolina regional news, with the ability to recognize the news value of a range of stories and to respond appropriately in breaking news situations. Knowledge of in-studio audio production techniques for broadcasting. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced news environment. Failure to provide official transcripts may lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Driving Record: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
