Function Ankeny's Parks and Recreation Department is looking for youth basketball officials for the 2024-2025 winter season. Officiate Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball games for both boys and girls, ages 7 to 12years old. Officials will provide leadership and support to promote a fun environment through good sportsmanship and safety for all individuals involved. Non-certified officials earn $13.75/hour Certified officials earn $16.75/hour Officials will have the opportunity to stay on with Parks & Rec department as a gym supervisor during the fall/winter if desired. Application QR Code: Principal Duties and Responsibilities * Officiate youth games accurately and fairly based on good knowledge of the sport and rules. * Promote good sportsmanship at all times. * Ensure a safe environment for all participants during games. Entry Requirements and Skills * Basketball knowledge and experience is preferred. Will train officials. * Must be available on Saturdays, November through February. * Pre-employment drug screen and background check required. * Must be at least 14 years of age. Physical Requirements * Must be able to run and be active during games. * Dependable and reliable. * Clean and neat appearance. * Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution. Work Environment * Indoor setting. This position is not eligible for health benefits but may be eligible for IPERS.
