The salary range for this role, based in New York is $169,224.00 to $211,530.00. The range will vary if outside of this location.  Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate's experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position. Position Summary The Brand Director Skrewball will be responsible for leading strategic and brand plan development/implementation, commercial planning, innovation launches and business monitoring. He/she will exhibit a general manager mindset and will be responsible for leading the US business to achieve three critical goals: * Establish a clear and differentiated position in the US market through marketing and commercial plans. * Build key brand equity metrics. * Accelerate brand performance and achieve long-term profitable growth in the US. This exciting role requires a dynamic Brand Director who has a strong strategic, marketing, commercial and operational mindset. The ideal candidate is consumer centric and can balance thinking strategically with driving commercial activation of the brand plan. Responsibilities include: * Strategy: Lead and guide the team through the annual strategic planning process. Establish a clear and differentiated brand positioning. Develop a growth strategy that plays to the unique strengths of Skrewball. * Commercialization: Set the commercial plan, commercial strategy and guidelines for the brand and lead efforts in communicating and activating this with the sales/wholesaler org. * Collaboration & Engagement: Partner with agencies, global brand company and cross functional teams to drive the communication strategy and vision to develop platforms/executions that maximize business results. Identify right agency mix needed for the business and brand needs. * Entrepreneurial Mindset: Develop, deliver, and iterate plans continuously with a resourceful, obsessive, and fearless mindset with a focus on proving the case for brand expansion. * Agile: Results-orientation and ability to operate with agility and respond to changes in customer and category dynamics. * Research: Identify, lead and guide team through performance analysis/construct research programs and derive implications to ensure marketing programs/expenditures meet KPIs. Consistently seek to improve our efficiency and effectiveness by sharing learnings across the team. * Trends Analysis and Implications: Identify, lead and guide team through the development of trends reporting and analysis to identify opportunities, risks and recommend changes to creative team. * Training and People Development: Manage direct reports, train, and develop them into strong brand experts and leaders while also creating a culture of creativity, learning and experimentation within the broader Marketing team. Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities * Act as day-to-day general manager; develop brand Annual Operating Plan and Consumer Engagement Platform; Manage brand A&P, pricing strategy, commercial strategy, collaborate with regional sales leaders and ownership team in execution of US plan. * Develop off and on-premise programs and toolkits. * Lead, coach and manage brand team. * Lead development of communication and platform strategy for the brand and the asset creation plan to support it. Manage agency roster recommendations and opportunities. * Engage and mobilize US sales leadership and key wholesaler partners with the execution of US commercial strategy. Job Requirements The role requires a highly motivated self-starter with strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across functions with passion and enthusiasm. Strong entrepreneurial ability to work around obstacles, results driven, and a bias for action with a pilot/learn/scale approach. The ideal candidate will have the ability to marry strategy with creative by helping to lead the digital transformation, brand growth and momentum. The ideal candidate must be able to both lead and influence teams and have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and executive presentation skills. Other requirements include * Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree (or equivalent); MBA or advanced degree preferable * Experience / Background: 10+ years of business experience, with experience in a senior level role in brand, media agency working on the customer side. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing entrepreneurial, challenger or founder brands. Must have solid experience developing strategies grounded in insights and analytics, while also being comfortable leaning into ambiguity to develop hypothesis. Must have experience in managing and partnering with abroad set of stakeholders in matrix organization as well as external agency partners. Must have experience managing financials and business performance including budget management. Ideal candidate will have previous experience in e-commerce, digital, websites, CRM and media. * This position may travel up to 25% of the time.
