Job Title: SVP of Operations Department: Bank Administration Reports To: Chief Executive Officer FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Grade: 23 Starting Salary: $142,500.00 - $150,000.00 DOE SUMMARY Are you a motivated and high performing individual who has strong people and organizational skills, and a desire to work at a local business dedicated to meeting the financial needs of its customers, validating the investment of its shareholders, and investing its time, money, and expertise to support worthy causes throughout Lake and Mendocino Counties? Savings Bank of Mendocino County has proudly been serving the needs of our communities since 1903 and is seeking a qualified professional for the role of Senior Vice President of Operations. This is an in-person position that requires a physical presence on-site, there is not an option for remote work. In line with the Bank's Vision and Mission, this individual is responsible for all back office operational functions. This position includes oversight responsibility for the Electronic Banking Department, the Training Department, the Security Officer and Customer Support including the Call Center. The SVP of Operations will be responsible for evaluating operational processes and procedures to make them more efficient. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of back office operational functions in a financial institution, a strong managerial background and experience in a variety of operational areas specific to banking. A successful person in this role has excellent leadership skills, a high EQ, is personable, organized and has strong time management skills. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Oversight of the Electronic Banking Department which includes ACH and debit card services, merchant bankcard, online banking, bill pay, mobile deposit, and wire transfers. * Oversight of Customer Support and the Call Center which includes legal process, escheatment, check review, online deposit account opening review, mail processing, etc. * Oversight of the Training Department which includes designing and implementing training and development programs for all Bank employees, documentation and publishing of policies, procedures, job aids and training materials. * Supervision of the Security Officer who is responsible for fraud prevention practices, the protection of Bank assets and physical property. This person also acts as a liaison with law enforcement, maintains appropriate security and surveillance equipment, investigates and reports on fraud cases and trends. * Review of operations in all departments under supervision to understand workflow, processes and procedures. Implement changes to make operational areas more efficient and effective. * Recruit, manage and develop staff in areas of responsibility, providing appropriate training, development and coaching as needed. * Promote the five practices of the The Leadership Challenge; Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act and Encourage the Heart. * Adhere to the Banks established Principles & Professional Standards. * Committee membership: * Senior Leadership Team * Compliance * Business Continuity Planning MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). * Minimum of 10 years in supervisory and management positions specifically related to back-office bank operations. * Demonstrated track record of success in bank operational roles with increasing levels of responsibility. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Previous experience using Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office Suite. Some driving may be required. Employee must possess the ability to read, write, perform basic math functions, understand basic communication and instructions, carry out instructions, complete basic problem-solving and analyzing of information, and make independent decisions within scope of responsibility. A post-offer physical is not required for this position.
