Position Summary: The University of Art & Design department is hiring! We invite qualified applicants to apply for our Galleries Preparator opening. This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay. The Galleries Preparator works with the Galleries Director, Department of Art and Design faculty, The Glass Center for the Arts, and The Hub to support the department's curricular and developmental needs delivered through the Radial Gallery, The Glass Center Gallery, Index gallery, and multiple sites both on and off campus Minimum Qualifications: ● AA in art history, art, art administration, museum studies or art related discipline. ● Experience in gallery operations including installation of exhibitions, and professional packing and shipping of artworks. ● Three years' experience coordinating projects and multi-tasking varied responsibilities. ● Record of carpentry and art installation knowledge. ● Ability to manage audio visual presentation. ● Excellent organizational and time management skills. ● Ability to attend to details. ● Valid driver's license with low risk driving record and ability to be insured by the university. Preferred Qualifications: While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following: ● BFA or BA in art history, art, art administration, museum studies or art related discipline. ● Two years gallery experience. ● Experience working in an academic arts related setting. ● Experience supporting the arts at a university or college. ● Experience managing student workers. ● Ability to model a professional work ethic to students. ● Effective interpersonal skills. ● Effective oral communication skills.
