Job Description Stepan is seeking a North America Crop Productivity Business Manager to join Stepan's Surfactant Commercial Team in our Northbrook Headquarters. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for the North America Crop Protection Business. This role will lead the cross-functional team (Sales, R&D, Marketing and Business) for North America Initiatives, prioritizing resources as needed to achieve the key deliverables. Additionally, this position is directly responsible for business analyses, pricing, decision-making, contracts, total value maximization, and market communications for the Agriculture market. Key responsibilities include: P&L Ownership * Grow the volume and the profitability of the business. Accountable for margin health. Identify and set strategies to maximize profitability * Manage and direct company resources in alignment with the growth strategy and ensuring ROI * Develop and implement price strategy including contract terms and time * Accountable for developing and overseeing customer commercial agreements execution. * Responsible for identifying and mitigating business risk. Strategy for Growth * Develop and execute the growth strategy in alignment with the Corporate,ESG and the Global Crop Productivity strategies. * Identify asset & resource requirements; and deliver business case for growth projects to achieve business strategy. * Provide leadership and project management on key projects. * Collaborate with Regional Business Leader as appropriate. * Partner with Crop Productivity Business Enablement to ensure global coordination and support for the Business needs. Business Team Leadership * Lead the Crop Productivity North America Business Strategy Execution Team, Set Goals, Ensure appropriate systems are in place to Manage Profit Opportunities, Oversee and prioritize R&D and other company activities. Provide presentations to senior management * Work closely and collaborate with various corporate and regional departments including Market Growth Manager, Sales Managers, Business Enablement, Channel Managers, R&D, Legal, Regulatory, Procurement, Production Planning, Product Supply, Sales to align efforts to execute the strategy and deliver the business goals. * Foster collaboration and communication across departments and the Global organization. * Ensure appropriate systems and resources are in place to manage the base business, profit opportunities, and growth projects. Set priority for human and capital resources. Customer Focus * Develop senior and mid-level relationships at key customers and other key industry contacts. Ensure external and internal customer requirements are being met. * Conduct regular face to face visits with key customer contacts in North America and global MNCs as needed. Present a positive image of Stepan to the marketplace. Market Dynamics * Responsible for understanding and communicating trends, activities, competitors, customer needs, regulatory issues, etc. * Actively participate in relevant industry trade organizations and shows. Administration of the Business * Responsible for the budget, quarterly profit projection, monthly reports and business reviews, business case ownership and accountability. * Responsible for contract and price management including cost models and rebates with business finance support as needed. Qualifications We are looking for a strategic business leader with experience in soil health, plant nutrition, or agronomy who identifies opportunities and drives growth from synergies with our current customers and maximize the results while expanding the customer base. * 8+ years Commercial experience in the Agrochemical Industry and/or in Industrial Markets with experience in Crop Nutrition & Soil Health * Skills Required: Business Acumen, Financial Acumen, Contracts Review, Decision Making, Strategic Thinking, Achieving Business Results, Business Relationships, Negotiation and Analytical Education * Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred #LI-KB1 #LI-HYBRID Stepan Company does not accept or retain unsolicited resumes or phone calls and/or respond to them or to any third party representing job seekers.
