If this sounds like the right opportunity in health care for you, apply today!The Recreation Specialist is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of our Therapeutic Recreation program which meets the physical, mental, psycho-social, and spiritual needs of our residents. Qualifications:The successful candidate must have a special interest in working with geriatric residents. In addition, the individual must assume responsibility for learning and following therapeutic recreational techniques and documentation procedures. Position requires the ability to generate enthusiasm during programs and be willing to participate in special events. Excellent communication skills are needed. The ability to follow oral and written directions is needed as well. Applicants certified in Therapeutic Recreation are preferred. Duties:Major job functions of the Recreation Specialist include Planning and conducting activity programs under direct supervision; assisting with outings; recruiting and transporting residents to and from programs; conducting one to one therapeutic visit with residents; assisting in planning special events; responsible for a caseload of residents and records daily attendance; gives input for care/family conferences; assisting with decorations and publicity of therapeutic programsWORK SCHEDULEThis full-time health care position works 8-hour shifts. 8am-4:30pm with a one Saturday every other month.
