About the team and position
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer with an insatiable curiosity to rethink how people interact with software-in this case Carvana's core website (carvana.com) and our iOS and Android mobile apps. This experience sits at the heart of our retail product and, along with our Sell to Carvana team, is one of the two key user funnels that power Carvana's business. We serve hundreds of thousands of happy car buyers every year. In this role, you will see your insights and work have an immediate, tangible impact on our business, while working with a team of happy, passionate people in a well-funded and rapidly growing company.
As Product Designers, we understand there's no one size fits all approach. That's why our team of scrappy designers has a diverse set of skills ranging from UX thinking, interaction design, UI design, research and prototyping.

What you'll be doing Leading projects of all sizes across the entire product lifecycle. You own the user experience and open the door for collaboration Tackling undefined, complex and platform-level problems and navigate through ambiguity Owning multiple stakeholder relationships, including product managers, engineers, and other designers. Helping product identify the actual problem that needs to be solved and ensuring they are solving key business problems Collaborating across verticals to ensure designs and experiences are cohesive Leading brainstorming sessions for initial design concepts Rapidly producing multiple concepts and prototypes, knowing when to dive deeper and when it is best to try a new approach Evaluating existing products and recommending optimizations Staying up-to-speed on relevant industry trends and monitoring competitive products Ability to take on a people management role with at least 1-2 direct reports, responsible for their mentorship, performance management and individual growth and development. What you should know/have
A Bachelor's Degree, Or Equivalent Experience, In Communications, Creative Or Technical Writing, HCI, UX, Or Similar Field. 4-8 years of experience working as a UX designer or Product Designer on web and/or mobile applications Stakeholder management: Comfortable explaining abstract solution to all type of stakeholders, fosters trust with partners and can modify communication styles to fit different stakeholder personalities Presentation skills: Has a defined voice and tone, is looked to by stakeholders to provide feedback and ideas in meetings, ability to present your designs and advocate for your solutions while thoughtfully incorporating others' perspectives-we value strong opinions loosely held Collaboration: tailored approaches to different individuals, proactively seeks feedback and can synthesize from multiple sources Excellent prioritization and documentation skills Experience managing direct reports working with junior members Experience with Figma is a plus We're looking for product designers to join us at all levels. We will evaluate which level you are best fit for throughout the interview process.
