Who We Are Seeking: a self-motivated, customer-service focused, ethical, professional to provide a helping hand with daily living tasks to Elders who are living independently in the community. The Elder Wellness Advocate also provides client advocacy and safe and reliable transportation to and from medical, dental, vision, behavioral health appointments, and non-emergent outreach activities along some of the most scenic road systems throughout the Matanuska-Susitna Valley and Anchorage.
Additional Responsibilities: scheduling transports and performing reminder calls to clients, monitoring and scheduling vehicle maintenance, performing routine cleaning of company fleet vehicles, assisting Elders with light chore work, documenting client needs and updating work logs, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring confidentiality policies and practices are always followed.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred. High School Diploma or GED is required. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills; including the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain cooperative relationships and work successfully as a member of a team. Excellent time management, problem-solving and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet sometimes competing deadlines. Superb verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
Certificates and Licenses Required: A valid Alaska Driver's license is required for this position and the ability to be insured on CVTC's vehicle insurance policy.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check: This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
Hiring Preferences: As allowed in P.L. 93-638, preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples. CVTC also applies family and local hiring preferences.
