. A caregiver in this position works PRN, as needed. Ideally 1-2 days per week, 3-6 hours in the evening (3:30pm-6:30pm), plus weekend coverage (1-2 weekend days/year). A caregiver who excels in this role, will: * Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills. * Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition. * Establish, revise, and evaluate a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires. * Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard occupational therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient. * Supervise activities of occupational therapist assistants, students, and other support personnel. * Always maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files regarding patient condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions. * Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary assessment of assigned patients. Participates as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team when necessary. Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: * Bachelor's Degree required. * Must be a graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association. * Current State Licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT). * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: * Prior experience in pediatrics preferred. Click the link and see how we're dedicated to providing what matters most to you: https://jobs.clevelandclinic.org/benefits-2/ Physical Requirements: * Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load to support patient from falling. * Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor. * Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program. * Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse. * Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors. * Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families. * Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
